Donor Bench Program

 In the fall of 2009, the Park Authority approved a Donor Bench Program, by which members of the public may dedicate a new bench in Sugar House Park. The program, aimed at addressing the Park's dearth of benches outside of the picnic pavilions, offers park users a chance to make a generous gift to the Park while honoring a friend or loved one.

 Under the new program, the Park Authority reserves the right to determine the style and location of the donor benches. A bench style has already been selected, and potential bench donors may select a location from several that the Park Authority has already identified. There will be no plaques on the donor benches; donors and honorees may be recognized on the Park Authority website.

 Currently, the cost of a donor bench is $1,250. Anyone interested in participating in the program may call Craig Cheney at the County Parks office (801-483-5473) for information and to set up an appointment to discuss their potential gift with a board member or park staff.
