** The walking/biking path is useable for Special Events but remains open for simultaneous public use.
Pedestrian Path
Sugar House Park Loop
The Sugar House Park Loop is a 16-foot-wide inside lane for walkers, runners, and cyclists. The Loop is a winding 1.38 miles with 92 feet of elevation gain.
The walking path is bi-directional. Cyclists should follow the direction of vehicle traffic and speed limit.
Playgrounds
Sugar House Park has two (2) playgrounds.
Parley's Creek Playground
Located between Parley's Creek Pavilion and Fabian Lakeside Pavilion.
Sugar Beet Playground
Located near Sugar Beet Pavilion and in proximity to the basketball courts.
Restroom Buildings
Sugar House Park has three (3) restroom buildings. Buildings are listed west to east.
Fabian Lakeside Restroom*
*Open year-round.
Parley's Creek Restroom
Closed in the winter.
Hidden Grove Restroom
Closed in the winter.
Athletic Fields
Sugar House Park has four (4) fields and one (1) basketball court available for reservations. The Sugar House Park Authority offers reserved use of athletic fields in Sugar House Park for games only. Fields may not be reserved for practices. Each field is unique in the sport or event it can accommodate.

Big Field
Located at the end of the park's spoke road. The nearest pavilion is Big Field Pavilion.
Use for: Soccer, rugby, lacrosse, kickball, and the start or finish of a race.

Backstop Field
Includes the baseball diamond and backstop or outfield. The nearest pavilion is Mount Olympus or Sego Lily Pavilion.
Use for: Baseball, kickball, scrimmages, field games, frisbee.
Size: ~393 ft x 348 ft / 120 m x 106 m

East Hill Field
The nearest pavilion is Mount Olympus or Sugar Beet Pavilion.
Use for: Baseball, kickball, scrimmages, field games, frisbee.
Size: ~305 ft x 164 ft / 93 m x 50 m

The nearest pavilion is the Sugar Beet Pavilion.
Use for: Kickball, soccer, lacrosse,

Basketball Court
Hidden Grove
Basketball Court
Located on the east end of the park the basketball court has (six) hoops. The court shares parking with the nearest pavilions, Hidden Grove and Sugar Beet Pavilion. The basketball court is open to all except when it is reserved for an event. It shares parking with Hidden Grove and Sugar Beet Pavilion.
Street Soccer Court
Free the Game
This street soccer court was donated to Sugar House Park on November 10, 2023, courtesy of the SLC-based non-profit Free the Game.

Pavilions
Sugar House Park has seven (7) pavilions. Each is unique in its own way. If a pavilion is not previously reserved, it is first come, first served. Pavilions are not reservable on state holidays.

Fabian Lakeside Pavilion
The new Fabian Lakeside Pavilion is in the same location nearest to Sugar House Pond and the famous sledding hill. The Fabian Pavilion Restroom near this pavilion is open year-round.

Big Field Pavilion
Located at the end of the park's spoke road and west of the main soccer field (and the nearest pavilion to the field). Rent this pavilion if you are using the adjacent fields.

Parley's Creek Pavilion
Located near the new children’s play area and south of Parley's Creek in the center of the park, the Parleys Creek Pavilion is the second largest pavilion in the park (2,115 square feet).

The concrete pad is not reservable with this pavilion. The concrete pad has be adapted to a public soccer court sponsored by "Free the Game"

Sego Lily Pavilion
Located near the park’s southern fence line overlooking I-80, the Sego Lily Pavilion is the smallest in the park (along with the adjacent Mt. Olympus Pavilion) at 1,406 square feet. The Parley's Trail runs along the south border.

Mt. Olympus Pavilion
Located on the south central side of the park, Mt. Olympus Pavilion has convenient parking and is suitable for smaller gatherings. The nearest playground and restrooms are located at Sugar Beet Pavilion. The Parley's Trail runs along the south border of Mt. Olympus Pavilion.

Hidden Grove Pavilion
Located across the Parley's Creek brdige to the northeast of the basketball courts, Hidden Grove Pavilion has the largest area (2,254 square feet) of the seven pavilions and is the most secluded.

Reserve a pavilion up to one year in advance and outside the designated May-September season with a Special Event Permit.

Sugar House Park
In 2003, the National Endowment for the Arts sponsored a competition to design a pedestrian corridor under 1300 East at Sugar House Park connecting Parley's Trail to the Hidden Hollow Preserve.
Internationally renowned environmental artist, Patricia Johanson, and landscape architect, Steve Gilbert won this competition.

Sugar House Park Community Garden
In 2020, Wasatch Community Garden funded, installed, and opened the garden inside Sugar House Park. Located on the east end of the park and south of the Garden Center. It offers 50 reservable terraced garden plots and a waitlist. Produce outside of the fenced area is free to pick. Please do not pick from the plots within the fenced area.
