The Sugar House Park Authority and the Salt Lake City School District agreed to a revocable license that will permit the School District to place a sanitary sewerline connection from the northwest corner of the Highland High School softball field into an existing Salt Lake City Public Utility pipe under the Sugar House Park loop road.

Sugar House Park Authority and the School District reached an agreement on a shared-use softball field.

Salt Lake City Board of Education is the owner of 29.21 acres adjacent to Sugar House Park on the northeast corner. Currently, about .64 acres of land are used and cared for by Sugar House Park. During the phased replacement of Highland High School, the school district will reclaim and use the full extent of its property. This is not a conversion of parkland, as the land is owned by the Board of Education.
