Pavilion Reservations

Pavilion reservations are the most popular reservation type in Sugar House Park for groups of up to 150 people. Reservations open on March 1st of every year. The summer reservation season is May 1–September 30. Pavilions are not reservable on holidays, including Memorial Day, Juneteenth, Independence Day, Pioneer Day, and Labor Day. Reservations for Sugar House Park's pavilions are booked through the Salt Lake County Parks and Recreation website. To reserve a pavilion up to one year ahead, complete a Special Event Request Form.

Pavilion Descriptions

Sugar House Park has seven (7) pavilions. Each is unique in its own way.

Fabian Lakeside Pavilion

The new Fabian Lakeside Pavilion is in the same location, nearest to Sugar House Pond and the famous sledding hill. The adjacent Fabian Pavilion Restroom is open year-round.


Fabian Lakeside Pavilion has:

  • Size: Medium

  • Adjacent parking lot with 78 parking stalls

  • Seating capacity for ~174 people

  • 50'x70' concrete pad for inflatables or games

  • Uncovered flex-space on the east side of the pavilion

  • Three-bay grill on a swivel

Big Field Pavilion

The largest pavilion in Sugar House Park is the ideal venue for special events. Located at the end of the park's spoke road and adjacent to the Big Field Multi-use Athletic Field. This pavilion is currently only half-filled with picnic tables and seats 122 people. The other half of the pavilion serves as a flexible space for various event activities, including live music, dancing, a stage, or a ceremony. Rent this pavilion if you plan to reserve the adjacent field.


Big Field Pavilion has:

  • Size: Large

  • Seating capacity for ~122 people

  • Adjacent parking lot with 48 parking stalls

  • Covered flex-space on the east side

  • Uncovered flex-space on the east side

Parley's Creek Pavilion

Oriented for easy observation of the adjacent playground, Parley's Creek Pavilion is in the center of the park and the same size as Fabian Lakeside Pavilion.


Parley's Creek Pavilion

  • Size: Medium

  • Seating capacity for ~174 people

  • Adjacent parking lot with 78 stalls

  • Two swivel grills

Sego Lily Pavilion

Located near the park’s southern fence line, adjacent to Parley's Trail and overlooking I-80, the Sego Lily Pavilion is the park's smallest pavilion, measuring 1,406 square feet. 


Sego Lily Pavilion:

  • Size: Small

  • Seating capacity for ~60 people

  • Adjacent arking lot with 37 parking stalls

  • 36’x50’ sand volleyball

Mt. Olympus Pavilion

Located on the south-central side of the park, adjacent to Parley's Trail and overlooking I-80, the Mt. Olympus Pavilion offers convenient parking and is suitable for smaller gatherings. The nearest playground and restrooms are located at Sugar Beet Pavilion.

  • Size: Small

  • Seating capacity for ~60 people

  • Adjacent parking lot with 37 stalls

  • 50'x70' concrete sports pad

Sugar Beet Pavilion

Located in the southeast corner of the park near the Sugar Beet Pavilion Playground.


Sugar Beet Pavilion has:

  • Size: Medium

  • Seating capacity for ~124 people

  • Adjacent parking lot with 82 stalls shared with Hidden Grove Pavilion and the basketball courts

  • 50'x70' concrete sports pad

  • Amphitheater seating

Hidden Grove Pavilion

Located northeast of the basketball courts and across a pedestrian bridge over Parley's Creek. Hidden Grove Pavilion has the largest area of the seven pavilions, at 2,254 square feet, and is the most secluded. There is no road access to this pavilion, and motorized vehicles are not permitted on the grass.


Hidden Grove Pavilion has:

  • Size: Medium

  • Seating capacity for ~95 people

  • Parking lot located across a pedestrian footbridge and shared with Sugar Beet Pavilion and the basketball courts

  • 50'x70' concrete sports pad

  • Horseshoe pits

Reserve a pavilion up to one year in advance and outside the designated May-September season with a Special Event Request.
