Over 50 individuals, including community members and employees of Goldman Sachs, volunteered for 3 hours to plant 31 new trees in Sugar House Park for the inaugural annual arboretum tree planting event. TreeUtah provided instruction, the trees, biostimulants for growth, and all the necessary tools, including gloves, shovels, and pickaxes, for the attendees.

The Might Oaks included:

The northeastern-most Shumard Oak is an honorary tree dedicated to Holly Nichols in recognition of her eight years of volunteer service to the Sugar House Park Authority.

The Great Shade trees include:

  • 3 American Linden

  • 3 European Linden

  • 3 Silver Linden

  • 3 Turkish Filbert

  • 3 Cork Trees

  • 2 Red Horsechestnuts

  • 3 Maackia

Thank you to TreeUtah for your organization and leadership of the event and to all the volunteers who donated their time to add trees to Sugar House Park's arboretum and Salt Lake City's urban forest.
